Oh, hello, little orchids! What a pleasant and serendipitous discovery. Mount Defiance seems to live up to its name, as these flowers, traditionally thought of as delicate and finicky, are growing so well. You go, orchids, four for you, orchids!
Time for Little Turtle’s favorite game – Spot the Turtle! Can you see him? The Girl had to have LT’s hiking buddy point him out. Hint: he’s not in Starvation Creek, thank goodness.
Though this bridge over Starvation Creek isn’t very high, it’s quite narrow; Little Turtle still feels a touch of vertigo!
Ooh, it’s quite cool and comfortable behind this waterfall. This is possibly even a better place to rest than the last one! Little Turtle could spend all day here.

Little Turtle confirms his earlier opinion: High Bridge is much too high, though it does have a lovely view. Good thing he has a friend with him, to catch him if the wind picks up.
